Origanum vulgare spp. Hirtum, also known as "Greek oregano," is known for its high content of essential oils (an analysis of the components can be seen in the product images) and is therefore much more intense than other varieties. Every summer, I hand-pick the best shoots and then machine-strip them. The unique climate and high altitude in the National Park provide ideal growing conditions. Oregano is an essential part of our cuisine and indispensable for Greek salad, stews, meze, and more.
